In the companies we worked in, someone could always show us AI doing a task. What was rarely clear was who the system answered to.
The technology was rarely the problem. What was missing was ordinary: someone accountable for the work, a clear limit on what the system could touch, and a record anyone could check afterwards.
In a regulated business, nothing reaches production without those answers. That is why so much capable AI stayed in pilot.

Why "Shokuin"?
Shokuin (職員) is the Japanese word for a member of staff. Staff belong to the organization. They have a role, they follow its rules, and they answer to someone.
Our logo is a Daruma. One eye is painted when a goal is set, the other when it is reached. Knock it over and it rights itself. Until the goal is met it sits in view, unfinished.
A Digital Employee is given a mission and works within it under human ownership.
Built from the inside
We did not arrive at this from the outside. We spent our careers building and running technology inside large, regulated organizations.
We know what a security review asks for, and how long it takes to get anything into production there. Shokuin is built for that reality.
